William, our Director for Engineering and Operations is a hands-on engineer with many projects to his credit. He has a rare combination of both IT and RF skills and is frequently outsourced by companies in East Africa to do projects as far afield as Gabon and Zambia. William comes with over 7 years experience in installation and management of Voice and Data networks. William has been actively involved in the setup of five Internet Service Providers in the East African region.
In February 2000 William was engaged to setup internet services at Wilken AFSAT in Kampala where he rolled out Kampala’s first commercial wireless MAN comprising of six base station sites and over 150 client nodes. in May 2001, William was hired by Global Electro-Comm. International, Inc., based in Dallas- Texas, as the in-country project engineer charged with business development. He designed and prototyped the Global Electro-Comm Uganda ISP, installed a 3.8m antenna earth station, routers and system servers.
William also managed the Kivu online project in Bukavu, Eastern DRC in March 2002 installing a 3.8m antenna satellite earth station, configuring routers and system servers, the breeze access voice and data wireless access system and installing a wireless MAN of 7 base stations and over 30 customer sites.
William holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical engineering, from Makerere University. William is also a wireless systems certified engineer with Alvarion based in Tel-Aviv Israel.
