ICT SYSTEMS INTEGRATION
The value of an ICT system is greater than the sum of its separate components or subsystems. Data Fundi is a Value Added Services provider with a strong ICT System Integration capability. We take the headache of your technology procurement function. All you need is to inform us what your requirement is and we shall do the rest. While it is very important that we understand you requirement in detail, it is not necessary that you transform yourself into a technology guru just for the sake of preparing a detailed Request for Proposal (RFP). You can build the RFP together with us as we get to understand you requirement. We shall therefore discuss your business requirement with you, carry out a technical survey and produce an RFP, send this out to potential suppliers on your behalf, evaluate responses, select the best, prepare the scope of work, manage the project and hand over a working system. For Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and WAN networks Data Fundi will provide design as well as Communications Regulatory support including services such as communication licensing support, frequency spectrum assignments, rights of way etc. No headaches for the customer!
Why use an ICT System Integrator?
Any Information and Communication Technology system in use today will most likely be built up from several multi-vendor, multi standard and multi protocol sub systems. Each of the component sub systems will most likely be highly specialised, designed to do a very specific function and "expecting" other sub systems to work with it. Each vendor will continuously upgrade their product, frequently releasing new versions of software and/or hardware. Many of the subsystems will be rendered obsolescent in a short time due to high rate of technology advancement. The requirement for ICT systems or subsystems to interface and inter-operate with systems of other vendors or users poses a continuous challenge for the user. Professional users may develop internal capacity to deal with this challenge but then the majority of users are either non professional or do not consider it a core part of their business to understand the inner workings of ICT systems to the point where they can safely and cost effectively master interfacing and interoperability. The majority of ICT users would be quite happy to outsource this specialized function.
The challenges above could be avoided the by sourcing ICT sub-system from single manufacturer cum vendor cum integrator, if such exists today. However in the current highly competitive, global business environment, where margins are very thin, this kind of loyalty to preferred one-stop-supplier is not tenable for the majority of end users. Moreover with the high rate of turnover of enterprises and with the very short time to market of ICT products, any one following such a policy may not only expose themselves to high risks in case of suppliers running out of business or miss out on new better and cheaper technology.
